Write a proposal that
defines the agreement.

A useful proposal connects the client’s outcome to a precise scope, delivery plan, price, and acceptance step. Use this structure before work begins.

Freelance proposal structure

01

Project objective

Restate the client’s problem, desired outcome, and the evidence that will show the work is complete.

02

Scope and deliverables

List each output and explicitly name important exclusions, client inputs, dependencies, and assumptions.

03

Timeline and milestones

Attach a review date, owner, acceptance condition, and payment amount to every meaningful milestone.

04

Price and payment

State the currency, taxes or third-party costs excluded, payment schedule, validity period, and late-payment process.

05

Revisions and changes

Define included revision rounds and how new scope changes the price or delivery date.

06

Acceptance

Give the client one clear next action and record who is authorized to approve the proposal.
