Your assumptions

Adjust the four assumptions, then calculate an hourly floor you can explain.
Quoting a fixed-price engagement? Use the freelance project quote calculator to convert this hourly floor into a scoped project price.
The formula
Required monthly revenue = income target × (1 + overhead %) × (1 + unpaid-time buffer %).
Hourly floor = required monthly revenue ÷ realistic monthly billable hours, rounded up to the next ₹50.
Use the result as a negotiation floor. Your quoted rate can be higher when the work is urgent, specialized, uncertain, high-impact, or carries additional commercial risk.
